It has been a while since i updated the blog.
A lot of things have happenned in the last four years from a new addition to our family member, moving away from Aberdeen, meeting new friends, locked down due to Covid and losing of the loved ones. Until recently, Ina's Tok Wan Abdul Rahman bin Mahyiddin has passed away on 5th Nov 2021.

MOSQUE AND JEWS
Watched a french movie last weekend titled 'Les Hommes Libres' aka Free Men.
I was surprised the Grand Mosque in Paris helped quite a number of Jews to escape Nazi occupation.
A little known story but shows compassion does not choose religion or beliefs.

2016 Summer Holiday - Part 1 (Un)
Just went back from 2 weeks holiday covering England, Wales, Ireland Republic, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
First stop was Legoland Windsor. The park was a bit outdated compared to Legoland Malaysia as it was build 20 years earlier but the fun is still there especially for kids.
Some advice if you want to save money:
1. Get coupons/vouchers from cereal boxes (got ourselves from Kellogg's) - usually free entrance for adult per paying child.
2. Stay around Heathrow airport, its only 30 minutes drive to Legoland.
p/s: During our stay at Heathrow, we discovered a small canteen that serving amazing briyani for £2.50! The canteen is called 'Holy Zam Zam'

IRON LADY
This was brought up by my other half few days ago, she thought the name of Britain first lady Prime Minister was Margaret Tratcher (note the 'r') instead of Thatcher. I thought the same too!
I remember watching news on television and the newscaster referring her as Tratcher. Probably the whole generation has been conned by the media, sigh...

PERFUME
I went to a designers outlet with my other half today, we planned to buy shoes yet could not find any of our liking.
As we had lots of time to kill, we then headed to Boots to test some perfumes. Out of all perfumes my other half have tested, i really like the one by Dior - J'adore. The fragrance was so fresh and had a flowery after-smell.
So to all the women out there, do get this. You won't regret!

SEBUTIR
Similar to English, the Malay language is also rich with its own collective nouns (or what we called penjodoh bilangan) for examples 'sebiji' durian, 'sebuah' kereta, etc....
But things are different in Kelantan when most of these penjodoh bilangan become 'sebutir'.
So if you are visiting Kelantan, don't be surprised if someone ask how many 'butir' durians you want to buy!

Newcastle
Not to confuse but there are two Newcastle in the UK, one is called Newcastle-under-Lyme while the bigger sister is called Newcastle-upon-Tyne. We went to the later last weekend. A city with character and inexpensive, a buffet cost me GBP8 per head can't find that in Edinburgh!
p/s: The M&S penny bazaar in Grainger market ain't cost a penny anymore :)
